Full Application Instructions

1. In a non-metallic bowl or bottle, mix 1 part gloss toner to 1 part developer (1:1).
2. Process at room temperature 3–10 min.
3. Fully rinse and shampoo out.
4. Only mix with Danger Jones Gloss Toner Developer.

Processing Time

• Standard Glossing/Toning - 10 min.
• For a softer tone, process for less time - 3 min.
• Grey blending - 30 min.
  

Tip: For best grey blending results, process 15 min. with plastic cap under pre-heated dryer, then process for the last 15 min. without heat.

• What makes Danger Jones Gloss Toners different from other liquid demi-permanent colors?
  There’s 4 things that make our Gloss Toners different. 1)They process in 10 minutes or less. 2) Our unique creamy consistency makes it easy to apply and control. 3) All 56 of our Gloss Toners have a vegan bonder inside to help protect the hair. 4) They’re non-drying and leave the hair soft, shiny, and in peak condition.

• Are Danger Jones Gloss Toner colors acidic? 
  Yes, our Gloss Toners are a zero-lift formula with an acidic pH (averages at 6.7 pH).

• Are Danger Jones Gloss Toner colors progressive?
  No. Our Gloss Toners are not progressive, meaning they won’t get darker if left on longer than the standard processing time.

• Do the Gloss Toners have ammonia? 
  No. Our Gloss Toners do not contain ammonia.

• What are some of the key ingredients inside the Gloss Toners?
  Our three key ingredients are chia oil to protect color from fading, apple cider vinegar to regenerate hair’s natural shine, and a vegan keratin (bonder) to reduce hair breakage and added hair strength.

• How does the bonder work inside the Gloss Toners?
  Our vegan bonder is made from plant micro-proteins which penetrate the hair cortex providing plant-based building blocks for longer lasting effects to repair & strengthen hair. Since hair is made up of 95% keratin, our vegan bonder helps “fill in the gaps” of hair that’s been compromised or damaged.

• Can I apply the Gloss Toners on top of Danger Jones semi-permanent colors?We don’t recommend it because it could compromise your semi-permanent color and longevity. It’s best to tone with our Gloss Toners first, then apply our semi-permanent colors.

• Can I apply the Gloss Toners after a permanent color service?
  Yes, it’s the perfect way to add extra shine, tone, and condition to the hair after a permanent color service.

• Can I mix Gloss Toner colors together to create a different tone?
  Yes, you can mix any of our Gloss Toner colors together to make different tones and/or levels.

• Can I mix the Gloss Toners 1:2 instead of the recommended 1:1 ratio to dilute a color? 
  To dilute a color properly we recommend using 0-0 (clear) in your formula, rather than adding more Gloss Toner Developer.  This will ensure optimum results.

• Can I use a different developer with your Gloss Toners?
  No. Our Gloss Toner Developer was designed to be specifically used with our Gloss Toner colors.  It maintains the no-lift acidic pH, maintains the color deposit, and creates a perfect consistency for applications.

• Can I mix the Gloss Toners with the Artistic Toners?
  No. Our Gloss Toners have an acidic pH and our Artistic Toners have an alkaline pH.  This means the two different pH’s are not compatible and can have negative results if mixed together.  Only mix Gloss Toner colors together for custom color creations.

• Do I need to shampoo the Gloss Toners out of the hair after processing?
  Yes, since the Gloss Toners are oxidative, you shampoo them out.  

• Is resorcinol and/or PPD in the formula? Yes, some of our colors (not all) have resorcinol and PPD in the formula.  Our goal is to remove them from all colors and we’re working with our chemists to do that. We started with them in some colors because it makes the formula more stable with deposit, shine, depth, and tone. Once we’re comfortable those key things won’t be compromised by changing the formula, we’ll adjust to a full Gloss Toner line without those two ingredients
